Er habe sie als dumme Gans hingestellt, sagte sie, während ihre etwa zwanzigjährige Freundin durch das Abteilfenster hinaus beobachtete, wie der Zug langsam den Bahnhof verlies. Als ihr Freund noch einmal winkte, lächelte sie und gab ihrerseits mit der Hand ein Zeichen des Abschieds.
„Hörst du mir überhaupt zu?“ fragte Patricia ihre Freundin und diese nickte, wiederum geistesabwesend.
„Was sagte ich denn?“
„Tim sagt, du wärst eine dumme Gans.“
„Nein! Nein! Nein!“, zischte Patricia. „Er hat mich als dumme Gans hingestellt. Das ist ein Unterschied.“
„Und was macht diesen für dich aus? Für mich läuft das auf den Umstand heraus, dass der Typ ein… such dir ein Wort aus… ist.“
Ich war überrascht, denn meinem ersten Eindruck nach, war ich davon ausgegangen, dass Sandra mit ihren Gedanken ganz bei ihrem zurückbleibendem Freund war und sie der emotionale Abschied so intensiv in Beschlag nehmen würde, dass sie den Faden bezüglich Tim und dumme Gans verloren hätte. Doch ihre Aussage mit dem I-Tüpfelchen von Raffinesse zeigte mir ihre Klarheit über Patricias Entrüstung.
Jetzt war ich aufmerksam geworden und widmete dem Gespräch der Freundinnen einige Aufmerksamkeit. Tims Verhalten wurde nun beschrieben und ich hörte, dass Patricia und er eine problematische und dramatische Beziehung führten, jedoch ging es offenbar nicht mit ihm und auch nicht ohne ihn.
Den Beschreibungen beider nach zu urteilen, machte Tim sie vor seinen Freunden lächerlich, indem er zum Beispiel ihren Geschmack als kitschig oder verschwenderisch hinstellte.
„Er kritisiert meine Nachtcreme, weil die sei fettig, was aber nicht stimmt“, klagte Patricia und Sandra stimmte ihrer Klage zu. Da sie aber keine Nachtcreme brauche, könne sie nicht ganz nachfühlen, was Patricia empfinde.
Eines allerdings machte sie noch einmal deutlich, den Umstand, dass in ihren Augen die einzige Dummheit darin bestünde, dass sie von dem Kerl nicht loskäme.
„Du kämpfst mit ihm den Kampf“, sagte Sandra. „Und solange du kämpfst, kommst du nicht los. Gib deinen Dämonen Futter. Dann sei doch einfach eine Gans.“
Nun erzählte sie eine Erfahrung, die sie als Type auf einem Bauernhof gemacht habe.
„Wir machten das zweite Mal dort Ferien, und ich hatte mich im Jahr zuvor mit einer Gans angefreundet. In den ersten Tagen hat sie mich immer gejagt und ich hab mich gefürchtet. Dann hat mir der Opa auf dem Hof den entscheidenden Tipp gegeben. Ich fütterte sie also mit Taubenfutter, das ich dem jungen Bauern heimlich aus der Futterkammer geklaut habe. Und das hatte ich stets in meiner Hosentasche. Die Gans entdeckt mich also und stürmt von hinten auf mich zu. Ich drehe mich um, da steht sie schon vor mir, zischelt ganz freundlich und zupft an meiner Tasche herum. Sie hat sich wirklich gefreut mich zu sehen, und ich freute mich auch.
Gänse sind nicht dumm. Aber vielleicht ist man eine dumme Gans, wenn man sich selbst für dumm hält. Keine Gans hält sich für dumm. Das nenne ich schlau.“

OK so he known as once more. It took a week. He says he desperately desires to see you again. He can not reside without seeing you again. If this is how he reacts when he’s desperate can you image how extended it’s going to take to get him to the alter? Be of good faith. These issues take time. He is just moving much more like an elephant than a tiger. You must have no difficulty keeping up. Here’s what to do and what not to do on your second date.

• All the dos and don’ts from the very first date are nevertheless in impact.
• Do not act like he is performing you a favor by asking you out once again.
• Do act like you are satisfied he did ask you out once more.
• Never ask Mr. Coward why it took him so extended to get in touch with.
• On the basis of your present history with him, never count on him to make the first move. He is not even sure why he known as you once again.
• Attempt and make him believe this is a all-natural issue and help him to loosen up. He is not naturally an initiator of social interactions.
• What you want to accomplish on this date is to make him feel that this is the way things are supposed to be. He is supposed to want to be with you.
• At this stage do not worry as well considerably about frequency. It is going to take time to get him into the groove of dating you on a standard basis.
• Just to be safe, it is OK to get Mr. Bravehart’s telephone number this time in case he loses his courage and you have to contact him.
• Please try and don’t forget that at this point he doesn’t know why he is dating you, but he is beginning to get a nagging feeling that he is acquiring too involved.
• You must make him really feel that this is organic – no massive deal.
• Do not mention long-term commitments.
• Do not act too severe. Act like as considerably of a birdbrain as he is. This will make him relax. Then you can move in

… “No honey, I didn’t mean into his apartment. Take is easy. Don’t rush issues.”

  69. In case anyone’s interested, this recording is a track entitled "One Bullet Hunt" from our 1990 release "Reminiscin’". The storyteller is our much beloved and missed original band member Rolan Foster. He was somethin’ special. Thanks for posting it Mike.
