The Wood Past the World (For J. R. R. Tolkien Fans), Fantasy Audiobook by William Morris

Time travellers
Quickly as the evening shades prevail,
The Moon will take up the wondrous tale,
And nightly to the list’ning Earth
Repeats the story of her birth:
While all the stars that round her burn,
And all the planets, in their flip,
Confirm the tidings as they roll,
And spread the truth from pole to pole

Dear Brothers and Sisters, Almighty Allah [God] has given us a Superior brain, so let’s use our Intellect to ideal of our capability to discover out The Truth.

Prithu

A king named Anga was descended from Svayuambhuva Manu.  Anga married Sunitha, the daughter of Mrityu, and they had a son named Vena.  Mrityu was an evil individual.  From his childhood, Vena connected with this maternal grandfather of his and thus came to acquire evil methods.

When Vena grew to become king soon after Anga,  he began to oppress the globe.  He stopped all yajnas and the prayers to the gods.  He insisted that individuals should pray only to Vena.  The sages did their degree best to persuade Vena to return to the righteous path, but Vena would not listen.

The sages then killed Vena.  (The Matsya Purana just states that Vena died as a end result of the curse imposed on him by the sages. The other Puranas say that the sages truly killed him with some straw in excess of which incantations had been chanted.)

Vena had no sons and a kingdom does not flourish in the absence of a king.  As a result, when Vena was dead, the sages commenced to knead the dead body so that a son may be born.  The first becoming that emerged as a result of this kneading was a dark and dwarfish son.  All the evil that was in Vena’s physique entered the physique of this son so that there was no a lot more evil left in the dead entire body.  (Other Puranas state that this son came to be acknowledged as nishada and this identify was also passed on to his descendants.  The nishadas became a class of hunters and fishermen.)

When the kneading continued, a handsome son was born from Vena’s appropriate hand.  He was born fully grown and held bows, arrows and clubs in his hands when he emerged.  His complete physique was clad in shining armour.  The word prithu indicates wonderful.  Because the son was born soon after a excellent deal of hard work, he was provided the identify Prithu.

The sages manufactured arrangements for Prithu’s coronation.  Prithu was a great king who ruled well.

But Prithu’s subjects nonetheless did not have the implies to make a living.  They asked their king to do some thing about this.  Prithu made the decision that given that the earth was not supplying any foodgrains, he would destroy the earth.  The earth adopted the type of a cow and started out to flee.

Wherever the earth went, the king followed in scorching pursuit.

The earth lastly recognized that she could not escape by working away.  She advised Prithu, Please do not destroy me.  Then your topics will not even have a area to reside in.  Your object is to locate a indicates of residing for your subjects.  How will that be achieved if you kill me?  Milk me alternatively of killing me.  The foodgrains that the milking will yield will supply the sustenance for your subjects.

Prithu accordingly milked the earth.  It is since of this that the earth is known as prithivi.  Prithu also levelled out the earth with his bow so that his subjects could dwell in the plains hence created.

The earth prospered during Prithu’s rule.  Poverty, ailment and sins had been unknown.  Every person was righteous.

Objection : This was the most foolish issue that one particular could ever heard, chasing,  killing earth, surrendering of earth because now way to escape, give me a break, brothers and sisters if earth will stop revolving [operating] then their will be a complete night on 1 side of earth and comprehensive day on other side of the earth,  if the earth is not yielding any meals yet, then Prithu’s subjects and a lot of generations before his forefathers could be living on just breathing air, logically this proves that the stomach was not current within the entire body of  human of that age [time period]. then may possibly be progressively stomach designed in their physique so they start off falling hungry and suddenly realize need of food to survive, this could be occurred because Brahma created human on trial and error basis approach, so suddenly Brahma created this large change in his creation and stomachs was  introduce in human body. this show that Brahma is unfit to call himself as creator of universe. this story was written by human which incorporate only confusions and error. because the creation of universe had not took area this way, the creation of universe was carried out by a genius who had comprehensive information of everything from beginning of universe to quite finish. that why Almighty Allah is named All understanding.

  1. Good love story, great voice. However I disagree with the title (For J. R. R. Tolkien Fans) there just isn’t the action and strong story base I was hoping for. I feel like overall this book is a glorified bedtime story that could potentially be shortened by 5 hours and 10 minutes.

  2. Well it’s quite obvious that her voice is good, but she tries too hard to force out the elegant American accent. Being an American myself I am accustom to hearing British and Australian peasants trying to mimick our boisterous yet serene vocals(there’s a reason why the legends like Alex Jones, Justin Beiber, Morgan Freeman, Taylor Swift, Stephen Hawking, etc… all come from here). Maybe if you guys didn’t eat so much crumpets, hamburgers, and vegemite then you would have a more wholesome tone! Here in America we like our tea and try to stay healthy, which makes our voices healthy.

  3. I believe that this young lass who identifies herself as Corey Samuel has an angelic voice and is nonetheless epic at narrative of this book. I also believe that any in opposition are dim-witted, jealous females or gay males looking for an outlet. the lass is almost as good as reading. I want her to read me to bed every night

  4. Beautiful use of the English language, spoken as it should be spoken. Pleasant and welcoming… Now, the story…

  5. Good performance, no comment on that. However this story sounds rather old. It is slow and the words used make It quite hard to follow for me as a not native English speaker (or listener). I bet it is part of the charm, but it made me lose focus and miss parts. I didn’t get myself to finish it.

  6. Cori Samuel has what is unquestionably one of the most beautiful voices in existence! She is equally beautiful to boot. Her reading of Jane Austen’s "Love & Friendship" is a masterpiece of comedy that her voice is absolutely perfect for. ?????‍?

  9. Cori Samuel reads this well. But you should hear Karen Savage read ‘The Big Time’ by Fritz Leiber. (LibriVox)

  10. Stephan has never covered Matt Hale and the creativity religion which unlike any other religion i can think of is based on race and not on belief of beings beyond our reach in the sky
you can write to matt he appreciates the letters

  11. Lovely voice. It would have helped if she varied it a bit for different characters. I enjoy audio books that are read a bit more dramatically. However, I think her voice and accent are suitable for the literary style of this book. It is a great listening experience. I like to listen to these books while I paint. Intellectual Exercises is a great discovery.

  12. The Wrath of the Awakened Saxon by Rudyard Kipling

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the Saxon began to hate.

    They were not easily moved,
They were icy — willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the Saxon began to hate.

Their voices were even and low.
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
    No man spoke it aloud
When the Saxon began to hate.

    It was not suddenly bred.
    It will not swiftly abate.
    Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate.

  13. Am I the only one who finds all the comments about the readers voice creepy?

More people are focusing on her voice than on the great story that is being read

  16. I’d like to thank you for this great audio book. I’ve been drawing comics and several art pieces while listening to this tale. I’d also like to thank all those who asked whom had painted this picture. I am amazed that I’ve found more artwork by John Bauer as I knew of the art but not the name of the artist…. Omg thank you! Any other great fantasy stories I should play while I’m drawing my commissions ?
