Jesus explains why He teaches with parables and offers the parable of the sower to a multitude gathered on the seashore.

Matthew 13:1-23

1 The same day went Jesus out of the home, and sat by the sea side.
two And great multitudes were gathered with each other unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
3 And he spake numerous factors unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow
four And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
5 Some fell upon stony locations, where they had not significantly earth: and forthwith they sprung up, simply because they had no deepness of earth:
6 And when the sun was up, they had been scorched and simply because they had no root, they withered away.
7 And some fell amongst thorns and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
eight But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be offered, and he shall have far more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: since they seeing see not and hearing they hear not, neither do they recognize.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not realize and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed lest at any time they need to see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and must comprehend with their heart, and ought to be converted, and I must heal them.
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
17 For verily I say unto you, That several prophets and righteous men have preferred to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them and to hear these items which ye hear, and have not heard them.
18 ¶Hear ye as a result the parable of the sower.
19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one particular, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the identical is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it
21 However hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
22 He also that received seed amongst the thorns is he that heareth the word and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
23 But he that received seed into the great ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

e he prayed, his face was changed, so that itshone bright like the sun, and his raiment glistened, and was white as snow. And all of a sudden two men were with him. They were Moses and Elijah, who hadcome back to this globe to talk with him about his getting crucified at Jerusalem. The Bible says they appeared in glory The apostles knew that it was Moses and Elijah, and they wanted to staythere on the mount with them, and not go down any more. Peter stated, Master,it is excellent for us to be right here if thou art prepared, let us make 3 tents, one particular forthee, 1 for Moses, and one particular for Elijah. While he was speaking, there came abright cloud and covered them, and Gods voice spoke out of the cloud, saying,This is my beloved Son, hear him. When the apostles heard it, they boweddown with their faces to the ground, and were tremendously afraid. But Jesus came andtouched them, and said, Arise, be not afraid. And when they had risen up andlooked about, Moses and Elijah were gone and they saw no a single except Jesus. 250

50 thoughts on “Parables of Jesus: Parable of the Sower”

  1. The word of our God is so rich and so fertile that, whatever He teach, makes us to harvest His love blessing more and more

  2. I suspect that the actual occurrence that happened here and all of these LDS videos was probably very close in appearance, dress, to the actual event. Watching these videos really brings it to life, such as seeing the seed fall to the Stony portion, my mind immediately understood that these she may take shallow root but will not last long, etc.

Once you put it into video like that, it really does help open your understanding coupled with prayer.

  3. love the parable of the sower and its very true once you understand this parable at heart and live it, chances are you are on the way, the path. One slight criticism of the txt, is that converted isnt a good english word to potray Yahshua’ message of repentance, or to return back to Elohim. Remember guys he came to bring the kingdom of heaven on earth not to convert people. John 6:63 are the truest words read them then you may want to deeply understand the word of Elohim. All praise to Aba father and his beloved Ben through the Ruah haqodesh we are saved. Amen

  4. I love Elder Oaks talk from April 2015 General Conference about the Parable of the Sower. It is so much more clear to me what the Savior meant in this parable. He says, "It is up to each of us to set the priorities and do the things that make our soil good and our harvest plentiful."

  5. Thank God I’m the seed that fell on good ground but only bc God chose me. I thank Him for choosing me and having patience with me. I pray He continually keep me and guide me in His will in Jesus’s Name. Amen and Amen

  6. I am me and I am in you. I am the channel from where life springs. I am eternal. I am of the earth, but I am descended from Gods prior to earth. I live forever and I see you. I am the Great Mother, one of the three. The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit. I see into your eyes that reflect your soul. If you are Godless, all women know – even the women who are Godless like you. I am in the mirror looking back at you. I am in the stars and of the earth too. Honey, I am the rubber you are the glue.

  7. the seeds he was saying we are seeds some of us see the thuth other don’t and some will not care . believe jesus he is the only way . we must follow him .

  8. I LOVE TO HEAR HIM TEACH…I LOVE TO READ HIS WORDS TOO…THANKS TO ALL THAT MAKE THESE VIDEOS, VERY MUCH I LIKE THEM. ..

  9. This is more relevant today then ever. In America god has been removed from schools and there is force trying to remove christian values and anyone with ears to hear can hear it and anyone with eyes to see can see it. But if Christians of all denominations can come together as one we can heal the earth. It’s simple all Christians believe that Jesus the son on god and he is our savior. That’s all that matters. Jesus’s house divided cannot stand. Every christian knows we where made in God’s image but it’s more then that we also have the holy spirit. We have the power to use the holy Spirit to defeat satan. But we can’t do it alone. God bless you all.

  10. I love that the Lord has the ability to teach us all on our level. It makes learning and growing my responsibility to practice and apply the Savior’s teachings. This process demonstrates 2 Nephi 25:23 – "…we are saved after all we can do".

  11. Open your heart and make room
For the sower who plants seeds
With faith, help the gospel bloom
Go forth and do noble deeds
